Hawker 4000

The Hawker 4000 is a super-midsize business jet designed by Hawker Beechcraft. It was announced in November 1996 as a larger model of the Hawker 1000. The first prototype flew in August 11, 2001, and FAA certification was granted in 2006. First deliveries were made to BJETS in May 2008 for ten Hawker Model 4000 jets, valuing a total of more than $330 million. Due to the Hawker 4000's carbon composite construction, it has more interior space than many jets in its class. It can seat up to ten passengers, and interior standing room is an average of six feet. This composite construction also makes the aircraft lighter than a standard aluminum structure, allowing a maximum range of 3,445 nautical miles, and a service ceiling of 45,000 feet. Production of the Hawker 400 ended in 2013, with less than 180 jets being built. The jet is powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW308A engines with 6,900 pounds of thrust each, allowing for a faster climb speed of 800 feet per minute and cruise speed of 470 knots.
