Falcon 50

The Dassault Falcon 50 is a super-midsize, long-range business jet produced by Dassault Aviation in France. The first prototype took flight on November 7, 1976, and the jet received French airworthiness certification on February 27, 1979, followed by U.S. FAA certification on March 7, 1979. It was the first private jet on the market with intercontinental range when it was completed. The first delivery occurred in 1980, and production of the classic Falcon 50 ended in 1996 when the Falcon 50EX was introduced. One of the unique features of the Dassault Falcon 50 is its three-engine configuration. It is powered by three Honeywell TFE731-3-1C engines, each providing 3,700 pounds of thrust. This configuration allows the Falcon 50 to have a range of 3,057 nautical miles, making it the first transoceanic aircraft in its class. Each engine has its own fuel system, with a total capacity of 15,520 pounds, enabling the jet to fly nonstop for seven hours with fuel reserves. The aircraft uses three hydraulic pumps to keep fuel consumption among the three tanks at an equal rate, averaging between 2,100 and 2,200 pounds of fuel per hour.
