Bombardier improved its already successful Global Express when it introduced the upgraded XRS in 2003. The Global Express XRS bears all of the qualities of its ultra-long-range older sibling, but with greater range and a modified design.
The Bombardier Global Express XRS, announced in 2003, is a direct development of Bombardier's Global Express aircraft. It was the third of four business jet models designed by Bombardier to compete in the ultra-long-range, large-cabin market, filling the top end of their product line. Improved from its predecessor, the Bombardier Global Express XRS features a swept-back wing with a 35-degree angle, high ratio root-to-tip taper, high aspect ratio, and aluminum slats for lower takeoff and landing speeds. It also boasts higher cruise speeds, increased range, and a better cabin layout and lighting than its predecessor.
